Description: Off Mirissa on the south coast of Sri Lanka, blue whales travel a deep water route close enough to shore for day boats to reach. The season runs November through late April or early May when conditions permit, with January and February the peak weeks and February through March usually the calmest seas. Boats leave Mirissa Harbour early in the morning to find them. Prepare for seasickness before boarding.
