Wind Cave National Park

Wind Cave sits in the Black Hills of southwestern South Dakota, about an hour from Rapid City. It holds the world's largest concentration of boxwork, a rare honeycomb patterned calcite formation found almost nowhere else. The cave opens only on ranger guided tours, from the Natural Entrance Tour past the Popcorn Room to the crawl by headlamp Wild Cave Tour. Summer is the time to go, when every tour runs daily.
