Pink Beach, Komodo Island

Pink Beach (Pantai Merah) sits inside Komodo National Park, Indonesia, reachable only by boat from Labuan Bajo on Flores, two to three hours each way. Red coral fragments blush the white sand pink, softest on wet sand at the waterline in morning or late afternoon light. Honest note: subtler in person than in photos. Snorkeling over coral gardens starts steps from shore, and most itineraries add the Padar viewpoint and a ranger led Komodo dragon walk. Best season: April to November. No facilities on the beach, so bring water and sunscreen.
